Michael Kors x Fossil

After celebrating his 30th year in business this past fashion week, what could designer, Michael Kors, have in store for next season? For Fall 2011, Kors and Fossil are working with mixed metals and chain detail to bring today’s woman “the perfect jewelry box.” Expanding the jewelry category is clearly the step in the right direction for both Kors and Fossil. Kors’ partnership with Fossil started in 2004 with watches, and the collaboration has now grown to include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

Matthew Williamson x Macy’s

Macy’s is getting on track to rival Target and H&M for most ‘fast fashionable’ retailer at the rate they’re going with designer collaborations. Their line with Kinder Aggugini, Karl Lagerfeld’s pending collection, and now we have Matthew Williamson’s line. According to the Macy’s VP of Fashion and New Business, “the most important part is finding designers that best represent what the trends are of the moment.” Translation for 2011: 70’s style and plenty of it.

Club Monaco x Scosha

Oh Club Monaco. Always looking out for the little guy. The mega brand has scooped up Australian designer Schosha Woolridge of Scosha for a new in-store collaboration. The brand has always managed to maintain an image that keeps them out of the category of disposable fast fashion, and part of that is due to their commitment to featuring the designers they believe in. After all, when the brand featured James Coviello’s hats, they were sold at practically the wholesale cost, meaning Club Monaco is serious about making sure every single piece gets sold.

BAPE x Mr. Porter

Nigo has spent 18 years at A Bathing Ape drawing in fans with camouflage hoodies and colorful sneakers but after changing up his aesthetic for a decidedly English take on Dr. Martens, the designer is furthering his love of all things dandy with a new project with online shopping website, Mr. Porter. The line, aptly named Mr. Bathing Ape, is a chance for Nigo to flex his tailoring muscle, offering up pieces made to appear like they came straight off of Savile Row.

Vivienne Westwood x Chivas Regal

During London Fashion Week, la grande dame Vivienne Westwood announced her design partnership with Scotch whiskey purveyor Chivas Regal. The two brands joined forces to host a fete with a banquet table befitting fashion royalty as Union Jacks, gilded glassware and lush velvet filled the dining room. To be sure, this bevvy comes not in a bottle with a stick-on-label but in the signature packaging of the iconic British fashion house; wrapped up nicely in a deconstructed jacket complete with a blue tartan ribbon.

Christian Siriano x Spiegel

It was only a matter of time before catalogs hopped on the designer collaboration merry-go-round. First up is Spiegel, recruiting Project Runway wunderkind Christian Siriano. Siriano is not shy, either on camera or when it comes to giving his fans a price point they can appreciate. The collection for Spiegel’s ‘Signature Styles’ (needs a name change) line will consist of about 10 looks. Puzzled as to how Siriano’s flair for red carpet worthy ruffles and flounces will mesh with your everyday look? Have no fear, while Siriano’s line will certainly include evening wear, this season’s inspiration is a bit more understated.

Ruffian x Tuleste Market x Savor Silver

Fashion week is usually the time for designers to get caught up in collaboration fever and Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais were no exception. For their Fall 2011 show, the duo abandoned their usual choice of Christian Louboutin footwear and settled on designers Satu and Celeste Greenberg of Tuleste Market. While most of you know Tuleste for their shining baubles and statement gold, the designers have recently taken their signature high gloss and metal work to footwear.

Audi Concept Design Munich x Head

In non-fashion week news, as much as we’d like to think winter is finally over, we can’t fool ourselves into totally forgetting snowmaggeddon actually happened.
