Nine West x Karen Elson

When we wrote a while back about Nine West’s collaboration with Sophie Theallet, we just had to pop by the brand’s presentation to see the styles in person. In between canapés, we were pleased to learn about Nine West’s next collaborator. This time around, there won’t be a designer helming the project but it will be none other than model/musician Karen Elson.

BAPE x Mr. Porter

Nigo has spent 18 years at A Bathing Ape drawing in fans with camouflage hoodies and colorful sneakers but after changing up his aesthetic for a decidedly English take on Dr. Martens, the designer is furthering his love of all things dandy with a new project with online shopping website, Mr. Porter. The line, aptly named Mr. Bathing Ape, is a chance for Nigo to flex his tailoring muscle, offering up pieces made to appear like they came straight off of Savile Row.

Christian Siriano x Spiegel

It was only a matter of time before catalogs hopped on the designer collaboration merry-go-round. First up is Spiegel, recruiting Project Runway wunderkind Christian Siriano. Siriano is not shy, either on camera or when it comes to giving his fans a price point they can appreciate. The collection for Spiegel’s ‘Signature Styles’ (needs a name change) line will consist of about 10 looks. Puzzled as to how Siriano’s flair for red carpet worthy ruffles and flounces will mesh with your everyday look? Have no fear, while Siriano’s line will certainly include evening wear, this season’s inspiration is a bit more understated.

Ruffian x Tuleste Market x Savor Silver

Fashion week is usually the time for designers to get caught up in collaboration fever and Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais were no exception. For their Fall 2011 show, the duo abandoned their usual choice of Christian Louboutin footwear and settled on designers Satu and Celeste Greenberg of Tuleste Market. While most of you know Tuleste for their shining baubles and statement gold, the designers have recently taken their signature high gloss and metal work to footwear.

BAPE x Dr. Marten

Photo: Dazed Digital

There was a time when the A Bathing Ape line drew hoards of fans around the corner of Greene Street in NY all hoping to get a hand on Nigo’s colorful sneakers and hoodies (Pharrell Williams’ support might have had a little something to do with that). Though the mass hysteria has subsided, the cult following is still going strong and loyal fans will be pleased to discover Nigo’s newfound love of British aesthetics in a collaboration with none other than Dr. Marten’s.

DKNY x Veuve Clicquot

Photo: DKNY

Some collaborations just make sense, others need a little bit of parsing out. This week we’ve got Veuve Clicquot and DKNY partnering on a sure to be popular limited edition mustard yellow snow boot. Veuve Clicquot is the de rigeur champagne of the Aspen-set, so we guess it makes sense that tipsy snowbunnies could be in the market for a colorful rubber boot to help them get through this abusive winter. Yes we’re now at 49 states with snow, #snowmaggedon.

Nine West is set to cash in on a couple superstar designers in the coming months. The accessories chain has brought in CFDA award-winner and Alaia protégé Sophie Theallet on a capsule collection of shoes and accessories this spring. Though Theallet doesn’t produce accessories for her own collection, the charming and slightly country aesthetic she brings to Nine West might be an indicator of what we can expect from her burgeoning line in the future. For Theallet it’s about comfort and the beauty, for instance the flats are foldable. Score one for office dressing, but wait, there’s more.

Christian Louboutin x Marlon Gobel

Though the name Christian Louboutin might not create the same feeling of elation in men that it does in women, there’s no question that the stiletto mastermind has managed some fantastic menswear pieces. Never one to tone down his vision, the designer has inspired men to drop their salaries on sneakers and loafers with no shortage of leopard and studs. Now the designer is partnering with upstart designer Marlon Gobel, collaborating on shoes for the line’s Fall 2011 collection.
