John Matos x Tumi

Statement luggage is a must. Why? Two reasons: First, baggage claim at the airport can quickly go from civilization to animal kingdom as weary passengers’ eyes dart from side to side hoping to spot their bag. Second, travel can be daunting, and there’s nothing like a good accessory to make the crush at the airport seem a little more bearable. That’s why we’re fans of Tumi’s new collaboration with graffiti artist John Matos.

Matos, who goes by Crash, has been tagging walls in the Bronx since 1975 before graduating to gallery shows and exhibits. Tumi approached the artist to customize a four-piece collection for its customers. For a very reasonable $445-$595, these won’t be available for long, particularly since the collection is limited to 1,000 units per piece. Whether it’s in the overhead or rolling down a conveyor belt into your arms, it’s a piece your fellow flyers will be coveting. Available now on
