Adam Kimmel x Carhartt

Toss that Bic razor because the man’s man is back. Carhartt and Adam Kimmel are working together on a new line sold exclusively at Barney’s New York in addition to a few specialty retailers. Kimmel has been a fan of Carhartt since his youth, and since Kimmel’s line often incorporates utilitarian themes, it’s no surprise that he would choose the 150+ year-old American heritage as a partner. The union was initiated by Barney’s vice president and manager of menswear, and he hopes to see it run past its initial two seasons.

The collection consists of outwear, jeans, plaid flannel shirts, and moleskin and cotton twill pants. Quilted moleskin blazers and denim shirts are also on the agenda, in addition to accessories all ranging from $70 to $600. It’s the latest in what designers have determined to be the new staples of menswear, i.e classic and rugged over modern and fashion forward. Considering this uniform has been crowding the Barneys Co-op floor for years, we’re excited to see what of this collection has what it takes to distinguish itself from the likes of Billy Reid and A.P.C.
