Anya Hindmarch x Temple Muse

Kicking off a new year of collaborations, Anya Hindmarch is launching a new handbag line with department store Temple Muse. For the uninitiated, Temple Muse is Nigeria’s top luxury department store located on Victoria Island, and Hindmarch is reprising her famous Be A Bag line in tandem with the retailer. Nigeria has reached its 50 year anniversary of independence, and to commemorate the momentous occasion Temple Muse, Anya Hindmarch, and Lagos-based photographer Emma Nwawudu have developed some iconic styles that depict life in the heart of the city.

Billy Reid x J.Crew

Billy Reid seems to be the name on everyone’s lips these days. After walking away with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, collecting a cool $300,000, Reid has let slip to NBC news that he has a collaboration in the works with J. Crew. Reid’s approach to fashion, working in a small studio in Florence, Alabama, lends him to designs that shirk trends and showcase the woodsy, worker, prep aesthetic for a younger customer. Recent reports indicate that J. Crew menswear sales are increasing faster than women’s, so J. Crew has made a wise choice in Reid, whose relaxed fits and madras prints aren’t very far from what the guys at J. Crew are already picking up these days.

After Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen, it was time for a woman with the right tongue-in-cheek approach to fashion to infuse the store with the right amount of spunk. This designer is looking back to over 45 years of her own archives to produce spirited and quirky looks that are sure to have high schoolers swooning.

Versace x The Milano Residence

Now that we’re slowly but surely heading out of the recession, it’s time once again for some of our favorite brands to get back to expanding. From China to Dubai, designers like Giorgio Armani have been expanding their aesthetics to include furnishing, and Donatella Versace is not far behind with the Versace-branded condo in the Philippines. The $68 million Milano Residence, located in Manila, is Versace Home’s first foray into residential design in Asia, and if you can afford the exorbitant price tag, your ottoman can co-mingle with gold gilded Versace furnishings in the lobby and pool. Fran Drescher approved.

Jonathan Saunders x Escada Sport


If you thought the trend of young London designers working with storied fashion houses was going anywhere, think again. First we had Christopher Kane at Versus, then Giles Deacon at Emanuel Ungaro, and now we’re happy to see the collaboration of Jonathan Saunders with luxury brand Escada. Saunders will be designing a capsule collection of about 20 pieces for Escada Sport’s Resort 2012 presentation, including leather accessories.
