Levi Strauss x Pendleton Woolen Mills

One thing a fashion editor never tires of saying is “Oh it’s vintage.” The industry’s love of all things dust ridden inspired Opening Ceremony’s widely successful with Pendleton Woolen Mills, and now Levi Strauss is mixing their denim with the brand’s famously recognized Native American inspired blanket linings. The union amounts to a line of men’s and women’s pieces available in early November.

Paco Rabanne may have been a relic of fashion’s past, relegated to design school libraries and mood boards, but now with the help of Rei Kawakubo, the brand is ready for a relaunch of sorts. The visionary legend behind Comme des Garcons has reinterpreted Rabanne’s iconic chain-mail handbag, the It-bag (before that term crept into our vernacular) of the late 60s, early 70s.

Does anyone remember J. Crew’s identity before Jenna Lyons took the reins? What once was a staid fast-fashion chain with nothing to offer but cargo pants and drab dresses has become the epitome of chic, collaborating with Fenton/Fallon’s jeweler Dana Lorenz and outfitting our very own First Lady, Michelle Obama. Thought the parade of fashionable offerings would never end? Well…say hello to the new collaboration between J. Crew and New Balance.

Which regions produce the best fabrics? What international fashion scores do you live for? Though Scotland certainly has a claim to knitwear (Pringle) the Milanese are certainly not to be undone (Loro Piana), and the Japanese may have the market cornered on premium denim, but silks are still in high debate. This by That: Kanye West x Stubbs & Wootton

This fashion-loving musician (with the aid of his new precocious muse) are working on a mens’ footwear collaboration. Both parties love making a statement so making an upgrade to the footwear brands de rigueur velvet loafers is no surprise. According to a telling New York Post article, we can expect big things from these individuals. What we can’t tell is what we are more excited about: the new album, the collaboration, or the muse and his eminent Fashin following. All this just when we thought Rachel Zoe was going to be so lonely without Brad.

Stay tuned for more details, etc.
