When Neil Barrett’s not busy churning out slim suits and impeccable (though severely bank-breaking) leather jackets, he’s probably got a collaboration in the works. He has worked with Puma and Palladium in the past so it would come as no surprise that the designer has been approached by Wallpaper magazine and Swiss brand Maurice Lacroix to reinterpret their iconic Ponto Decentrique GMT timepiece. Barrett is one of three designers, others include Arik Levy and Gwenael Nicolas, but we are suckers for leather. And if you’re a follower of Barrett’s work, you can tell he went with his instincts on this one. Translation: minimalist and covered in what, leather. It’s simple design (silver on leather impressions of dials) make it a modern departure from the apparent epidemic of oversized watch faces (see: The Sartorialist, 9am on Wall Street) that we’ve been seeing for years. Barrett fans, leather aficionados and those with a starting sum of $5,207 (at the current exchange rate) are sure to swoon.

All three watch styles are up for auction ending June 19th. All proceeds will go to the designer’s charity of choice. Arik Levy, photographer designer and technician extraordinaire, has nominated Sinjiya-Ton, a charity dedicated to the aid of Malian street children. Gwenael Nicolas, Tokyo based designer and the man behind Uniqlo store designs, will be donating to human aid organization, Médicins Sans Frontières. And Barrett, fashion designer, to will donate to world aid charity, Oxfam.
