GE Digital Cameras x Jason Wu

In a bid to attract a more style conscious crowd, GE has recruited boy wonder Jason Wu (New York based fashion designer) to design a series of point and shoot digital cameras. The top brass at the usually tech-specific General Imaging are hoping to sell these easy to use cameras right alongside other fashion accessories at stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.  With the ever-growing popularity of style blogs, we have seen a surge in the number of blogger-friendly gadgets flooding the market (Sony bloggie, Apple iPad, etc.) But by tapping a hot, young designer like Jason Wu, GE should be able to grab the attention of the often fickle fashion crowd.

For now however, the cameras dubbed ‘Create by Jason Wu’,  will be sold on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) beginning March 16th. They come in some of the season’s most popular shades; gold, black, red, blue, green, white or yellow in a metallic finish and grey, black or white in a chic leather finish. In addition, the  ‘Create’ has a retractable USB plug for convenient transfer or viewing of photos and videos on laptops, desktop computers and televisions with USB ports. Major plus.
